CIVSEC 2018 melded 100 international and Australian speakers, presenting new thinking in strategy and tactics across 74 sessions on topics as diverse as social media, climate change, natural disasters and counter terrorism.

Key security agencies and their supporting organisations staged major conferences as part of CIVSEC 2018, with highlights including:

  • More than 100 speakers and 55 government agencies represented
  • Inaugural National Security Science and Technology Centre (NSSTC) Innovation Science and Technology in Civil National Security Conference, featuring international Homeland Security speakers from the USA, UK and Canada
  • Attendance by nine Police Commissioners from Australia and New Zealand

The conference program was complemented by an industry exhibition displaying an exceptional cross section of technology in support of Australia’s public safety and civil security agencies, including disaster response equipment, clothing, vehicles, personal protection equipment, forensic technology, cyber security solutions, unmanned systems and simulation.
